How would you pitch your idea in one sentence?
Ceres is a compostable filling material for package shipping made of straw.
Why are you participating in THE MISSION?
As a young start-up, you usually rely on an ecosystem to help you move forward. The special thing about THE MISSION's ecosystem is the close cooperation with well-known companies. Here you can benefit from their experience and adapt your product to the actual need much faster.
What did you do so far in THE MSSION?
In THE MISSION we prepared our pilot phase extensively. For example, we developed market entry strategies with Bain & Company. We also learned a lot about fundraising. Furthermore, we found a companion to work with us and help us develop the idea further.
What is a fun story about your idea and/or your team?
In our early days, we always wore straw hats to stand out.
Which goals did you reach in the past time?
In the past time, we have further developed our product so that we are getting more and more interest from customers. For our upcoming pilot phase, we have already found some pilot partners who want to try out our product. One of them is Samsung for example which is conducting a test phase with us for various applications.
We were also recently nominated as a semi-finalist for the “Hessischer Gründerpreis”.
What are your goals for the next year?
Next year we want to bring our production to a scalable level. To achieve this, we have already found a production hall where we want to set up our machinery from the beginning of next year.
Is there anything else you want to share with our community on social media?
With our idea, we want to prove that you don't have to choose between sustainability and a cheaper price. With Ceres, filling material should become both ecological and economical.
